Role: AI Educator

Role Overview
We’re hiring an AI Educator to join our Learning & Training team and help scale Edgefield’s AI education programs for CPA firms nationwide. Reporting directly to our Head of Learning & Education, you’ll help craft and deliver engaging, accessible trainings and shape how AI is taught across the accounting profession.

This role blends teaching, product curiosity, and accounting experience. You’ll simplify complex AI concepts and workflows, facilitate live trainings, and contribute to the evolution of a high-demand curriculum that’s transforming how firms work.

You’ll serve as a trusted educator and translator—connecting emerging AI tools to the real-world needs of accounting professionals. The role is ideal for someone who enjoys teaching, is product- and technology-curious, and has firsthand experience in the rhythms and realities of CPA firm life.

Location: Remote
Type: Fractional / Contract
Hours: 5-20 hours/week, during business hours
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver Edgefield’s AI training curriculum to CPA firm teams—ranging from staff to partners—through live (virtual or onsite) sessions, workshops, and ongoing learning formats.
• Translate complex technical concepts (like prompting, generative AI, workflow automation) into relatable, accessible content for accounting professionals.
• Collect and synthesize feedback from learners to recommend improvements to our content and delivery methods.
• Collaborate with the Learning & Training team to evolve the curriculum based on firm maturity, service line needs, or technological shifts.
• Demonstrate hands-on AI use cases in accounting firm operations, whether for audit prep, engagement letters, internal meetings, or client interactions.
• Track new developments in AI applicable for accounting and contribute ideas to help Edgefield stay on the cutting edge.
Qualifications
Must-Have:

• Client services experience at a CPA firm (e.g., audit, tax, advisory). You understand the firm model, its pace, and its client service mindset.
• Communication skills. You excel at turning the abstract into the practical, and can read a room, whether virtual or in-person.
• Fluency in generative AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Microsoft Copilot, or similar.
• Knowledge of workflow automation tools like Zapier, Notion, Airtable, or others; enough to explain how automation supports efficiency.
• Product and tech curiosity. You like experimenting with tools and workflows and thinking about how they fit into real-life practice.
• Team-oriented and collaborative. You’re energized by co-creation and being part of a high-trust, purpose-driven team.

Nice-to-Have:

• Experience delivering internal or external training, enablement, or workshops.
• Background in product, innovation, consulting, or digital transformation.
• Experience designing or refining learning programs or adult education content.

Role: AI Solutions Enabler

Role Overview
We’re hiring an AI Tech Enabler - a hands-on, curious, product-minded builder who can prototype what’s possible at the intersection of AI, automation, and accounting workflows.

Our team has lots of hypotheses—but not enough bandwidth to run them down. That’s where you come in.

This is a fractional, remote role ideal for someone who loves discovering use cases, tinkering with tools like ChatGPT, n8n, and Copilot Studio, and rapidly prototyping and de-risking high-impact solutions. You’ll help identify and solve for low-hanging fruits, mid-term wins, and long-term technology transformation —all while shaping our thinking on how our profession can elevate in our technology usage.

Location: Remote
Type: Fractional / Contract
Hours: 5-20 hours/week, during business hours
Key Responsibilities
• Prototype workflow solutions using generative AI, APIs, and no/low-code tools , and vendors to automate and streamline professional services workflows.
• Stitch together tools like ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Airtable, n8n, and make.com to test AI-powered workflows for firm back office and client service tasks.
• Conduct product discovery, including interviews, quick testing, and iteration to identify real problems and viable solutions.
• Document and demo concepts clearly, helping the broader team and clients understand potential use cases and limitations.
• Collaborate closely with your Edgefield colleagues to ensure technical prototypes align with curriculum and client transformation goals.
• Repeatable, high-impact use cases that can become services, internal tools, or future product opportunities.
Qualifications
Must-Have:

• Hands-on experience with AI and automation tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Zapier, Make, Airtable, Notion, etc.).
• Strong product discovery skills—you know how to identify pain points and validate assumptions without overbuilding.
• Creative problem-solver and fast prototyper. You’re more interested in what’s possible than what’s perfect.
• Ability to work autonomously and navigate ambiguity—this role is about exploration and creation.
• Excellent communication skills—especially in showing others what a prototype does and why it matters.

Nice-to-Have:

• Familiarity with accounting services and accountant’s core workflows
• Experience working in early-stage startups, innovation labs, or R&D teams.
• Comfort with APIs, browser extensions, custom GPTs, or other edge tools.

Project Highlight:

Onboarding Generative AI Tools to the Team

Accounting tech startup Aiwyn wanted to formulate a cohesive strategy for how to collaborate or compete with other AI tech vendors, aiming to uncover the greatest leverage from partnerships and shape their product framing and differentiation messaging.
Ellen, in her role as the COO of Aiwyn, conducted an in-depth analysis of the accounting tech ecosystem, mapping out Aiwyn’s position and providing clear next steps on how Aiwyn could differentiate their product and increase demand generation offering against collaborators and competitors.
This strategy was pivotal in informing Aiwyn’s business approach. Following this work, Aiwyn successfully raised over $15 million in venture capital funding, accelerating its market adoption and solidifying its position in the accounting vertical.
